What This Means in Practice

A freelance designer selling AI-generated art on a print-on-demand store does not need a paid license unless they cross the $1 million revenue threshold. A funded startup with $2 million in ARR using SD 3.5 in their product pipeline does need one.

Self-hosted models (downloaded from Hugging Face and run on your own hardware) fall under the same Community License terms. The license applies to the model weights, not the delivery method.
